Red Shoes
A project inspired by the reading of the story of the “little red shoes” (old Magyar-Germanic version), the films dedicated to it and the reflection on the value of one’s own instinctive creative nature.
Shoes are a symbol of creative ability and a metaphor for what protects us and keeps us on our feet.
In the ancient tale, the protagonist trades the small shoes made of rags for a more comfortable and secure life; the inner ‘hunger’ continues to grow and feeds on illusions in the confusion.
In the films, the red slippers arouse desire for possession and jealousy, and are therefore stolen.
The free feminine instinctive nature is perceived by women and in its constructive sense generates solidarity and sharing.
This creative potential is shared through the offering and passing of the object – the red slippers – from person to person, generating a transactional action capable of rewinding the film.
