The performance Cut Now is an intimate and collective ritual in which the artist lies down with a ribbon tied around her neck on which are written key words representing emotional blocks or traumas. Viewers are invited to identify a word that resonates with them and, using a pair of scissors, symbolically cut the ribbon and the word associated with it. Scissors, a double-edged object, evoke ambivalent feelings: danger and caution. By using them, the audience is invited to perform a liberating act: to cut their own inner block and, at the same time, to participate in the artist’s liberation. The artist, still and present, offers a space of attentiveness and calm, making the cutting a meditative act, a passage to awareness and transformation. The participation of the audience expresses the complexity of the healing process, which is never a solitary act. Each cut, each broken word becomes a moment of connection between artist and audience, a mutual initiation. The artist receives the vulnerability of the spectator and transforms it into a shared act of healing, restoring the possibility of inner transformation. This relational gesture emphasises the interconnectedness of individual actions and their impact on the whole social fabric. The process begins with a personal choice, but through caring for and connecting with the other, it is amplified into a collective repair.
